First, an important piece of information you need to know is your financial history in the market. In other words, it's mainly about knowing if your credit score is on the blacklist.

According to a recent survey by Serasa, Brazil has almost 70 million people in default, with an average debt of R$1,937.38.

Therefore, the first step toward regularization is to fully understand your debts. Only then will it be possible to develop a negotiation strategy.

These days, it's quite easy to find out this information. There are at least two quick and free ways to check your debts online. One is through Serasa Experian and the other is through Boa Vista SCPC.

In all cases, the query is made using the CPF.

Serasa Experian

To check your name directly on Serasa, simply use the company's app or website, click on the “Check CPF” tab and register with the requested data: CPF, email, date of birth and full name.

Once this process is complete, the user will have access to a page that displays their score (which is the score of their credit history in the market), the balance of their digital wallet, and any outstanding debts in their CPF (Individual Taxpayer Registry).

This page allows you to monitor your negative debts, protests, bounced checks, lawsuits, bankruptcies, and status with the Federal Revenue Service. You can also make agreements with partner creditors there.

Boa Vista SCPC

Boa Vista is a Brazilian company that manages the SCPC (State Registry of Personal Income Taxes), in addition to being one of the managers of the Positive Registry. To search, visit the Consumidor Positivo website and click on the "CPF Search" tab. As with Serasa Experian, you'll need to confirm some basic personal information.

Once you've registered, you'll have access to a page with the most relevant information about your credit history, similar to what Serasa does: score, outstanding debts on your CPF, and account and payment information.

If you wish, you can create a Positive Credit Registry, which is a good way to demonstrate to the credit market that you are a "good payer." With this information, you'll have an easier time obtaining credit.
